Dongducheon Rose Hair Salon
Inspired by a personal visit to a small neighborhood salon with the author’s mother, this piece reflects on themes of inheritance, gratitude, and the unseen support behind individual success.
The scene is set inside a small, modest hair salon, where a quiet interaction unfolds between the figures. By framing the intimate interior against a vast, open landscape, the composition emphasizes the contrast between personal memory and the larger passage of time. Warm lighting and subdued colors were used to evoke a sense of nostalgia and quiet reflection.
